Tarte Achiote Collection

Das Tarte Achiote Set war dieses Frühjahr / Sommer ein limitiertes Set von Tarte. Im Set waren drei Produkte in Originalgröße erhalten: Einen Amazonian Clay Blush ($25), einen Lipsurgence ($24) und ein Maracuja devine shine lip gloss ($21). Da man für das Set nur $42 statt dem Gesamtpreis der Einzelprodukte von $70 zahlt, macht man hier ein ganz gutes Geschäft. Achiote bzw. auf deutsch auch Annattostrauch, Orleansstrauch oder Rukustrauch genannt ist ein Strauch ist ein Strauch der in Südamerika wächst. Die Samen seiner Früchte kommen zum Färben von Textilien, als Tinte, aber auch zur Körperbemalung von Einheimischen zum Einsatz. Der Spitzname des Strauches lautet auch Lippenstift-Baum. Tarte hat den Farbstoff der Samen dieses Strauches in den Produkten der Achiote Kollektion verwendet. 

For $42 you receive a three fullsized Tarte products: Amazonian Clay Blush, Lipsurgence and a Maracuja devine shine lip gloss. The total price of all the products bought individually would habe been $70 thus the set is a pretty good deal. Achiote is known as mother nature’s lipstick tree.  It’s a tree found in South America which produces a vibrant pink fruit.  The pure pigment obtained from the seeds of that fruit is what Tarte infused into these products.

Da ich ohnehin ein ganz großer Fan der Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes bin und ich die Blush Farbe, die es nicht einzeln zu kaufen gab, so toll fand, musste gleich das ganze Set bei mir einziehen. Ich habe es nicht bereut, denn auch die Lippenprodukte sind sehr schön und angenehm zu tragen. Der Lipsurgence natural lip luster erinnert etwas an die Clinique Cubby Sticks, jedoch mit leichter Minznote. Der Gloss funktioniert mit einem Klickmechanismus. Er hat ebenfalls eine leichte Minznote. Maracuj-Öl soll die Lippen pflegen.

Since I am a huge fan of the Amazonian Clay Blushes and the color Achiote, which was only available in this set, looked so pretty, I had to have the set. I don't regret the purchase. This was I got to try two other products from Tarte. Their lipsurgence lip luster reminds me a little of the Clinique Cubby Sticks with a slight mint flavour. The lipgloss which works with a click mechanism also has a mint flavour and maracuja oil is suppost to nourish your lips. I like the texture and the look of the lip products.

The Body Needs Bestellung

Bei Honey and Milk bin ich auf den Shop "The Body Needs" aufmerksam geworden. Ich finde die Idee toll, dass man kleine Produktabfüllungen von MAC Pigmenten, Lippenstifte etc. zum testen bestellen kann. Darüber hinaus vertreibt der Shop auch eigene Produkte (TBN) und allerlei "Zubehör" rund um das Thema Beauty.

Bei meiner ersten Bestellung habe ich eine Probe vom MAC Painterly Paintpot sowie von den MAC Lippenstiften in Syrup (Lustre) und Please Me (Matte) bestellt. Darüber hinaus durften 10 Magneten und zwei Spateln mit. Es hat zwar ziemlich lange gedauert, bis die Produkte da waren (ich glaube ca. 3 Wochen) aber ich bin dennoch recht zufrieden mit dem Shop / meiner Bestellung. Am 29. Februar gab es zudem eine 29% auf alles Aktion. Bei der Gelegenheit habe ich mir einige Pigmente der Eigenmarke (TBN) bestellt. Diese sind jedoch zur Zeit noch auf dem Weg zu mir.

Bei den Lippenstift Samples finde ich es wirklich toll, dass diese gut sichtbar mit dem Namen beschriftet und sogar einzeln eingeschweißt sind. Auch die Paintpot Probe ist so verpackt, dass das Produkt nicht austrocknet.

Through a blog called Honey and Milk I found an online shop called "The Body Needs". I like the idea that they sell samples of MAC products like lipstick, pigments or paintpots. This way you can try these products without having to spend the full price which is especially here in Germany rather high. I got MAC samples from the lipsticks Syrup and Please Me as well as the paintpot in painterly. The prices are fair for the amout of product you get. I also got 10 magnets and two spatulas. I like that  the product samples are labeled obviously as well as that they are sealed. Even though it took about three weeks for the order to arrive I am rather satisfied. On the 29th of february they had a 29% sale on everything. I placed another order with pigments from TBN (their own brand) which is still on its way here...

Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Last Lipstick

Heute möchte ich euch mal meine zwei Wet 'n' Wild Mega Last Lippenstifte vorstellen. Ich besitze sie in den Farben "Think Pink" und  "Just Peachy". In den USA sind die Lippenstifte ziemlich gehyped, daher habe ich mich gefreut, dass ich sie im Zuge eines Swaps erstehen konnte. Die Lippenstifte sind ziemlich matt, haben eine extrem hohe Deckkraft und halten ziemlich lange auf den Lippen. Bei einem matten Lippenstift erwarte ich auch automatisch einen trockenen und die Lippen austrocknenden Lippenstift. Das ist hier zum Glück nicht der Fall. Aufgrund der hohen Deckkraft und des matten Finishes sollte man jedoch vor dem auftragen keine spröden Lippen haben. Am Besten vorher nochmal schnell ein Lippenpeeling machen, denn sonst betonen die Lippenstifte unschön trockene Lippen. Leider setzten sich die Lippenstifte vor allem Think Pink auch gerne in die kleinen Lippenfältchen ab. Da ich vor allem im Winter selten perfekt gepflegte Lippen habe, trage ich vor dem Lippenstift immer eine Lippenpflege auf.  Hierdurch geht zwar der Matt-Effekt verloren und auch die Haltbarkeit leidet etwas darunter, dafür sieht der Look jedoch gepflegt aus und ich kann die schönen Farben tragen. Vor allem "Just Peachy" hat es mir sehr angetan.

I was able to get the Wet n Wild Mega Last lipsticks in "Just Peachy" and "Think Pink" in a swap a while ago. They are very hyped in the US thus I was happy to get to try them myself. They are rather matt, extremly pigmented and last really long. Usually I expect a drying lipstick when I think about matt lipsticks. These ones are however not that dry nor drying. But you should peel your lips before applying these lipsticks because they really emphasize dry lips and they also get into the fine lines of your lips. Since I don't have perfect lips in the wintertime I always apply a lip balm before the lipstick. This way the matt effect is ruined and they don't stay as long, but at least I can wear the lipsticks without having my lips look like they are dry and wrinkly. I really like the colors especially "Just Peachy" is really gorgeous.

Perfect summer pink! Michael Todd Pink Lady Lipstick

Mein momentaner Favorit in Sachen Lippenstift ist der Pink Lady von Michael Todd. Bei Pink Lady denke ich eher an ein klassisches Pink, aber der Lippenstift ist die perfekte Mischung aus Pink und Peach, was meine absolute Lieblingsfarbe für den Sommer ist. Der Lippenstift enthält keine Schimmerpartikel und ist beim auftragen eher fest, auf den Lippen dann aber ausreichend cremig. Der Lippenstift betont jedoch solo getragen trockene Lippen, also peele ich meine Lippen ganz gerne vor dem auftragen bzw. vermeide ihn bei trockenen Lippen. Ich denke, dass es an der Festigkeit des Lippenstifts liegt, dass er verhältnismäßig lange hält. Als ich ihn das erste mal gesehen habe, dachte ich das sei ein Scherz. Der Lippenstift ist wirklich ziemlich klein. Aber er enthält tatsächlich sogar mehr Inhalt als ein MAC Lippenstift. MAC enthält nur 3g Michael Todd 4g. Dann finde ich die kleine Verpackung sogar ganz praktisch, da platzsparend in der Handtasche. :)

Michael Todd in Pink Lady is my go to lipstick for summer. It is the perfect combination of peach and pink. The lipstick has a cream finish. When you apply it the texture is rather hard, but it gets creamy once it is on your lips. I believe it is the texture that also makes it last pretty well. BUt I would not recommand it if you have chapped lips because it does emphasize dry lips. Thus I sometimes like to peel my lips before I apply it. When I first saw the lipstick I thought it was a bad joke. It is tiny! But it actually is 4g which is more than a MAC lipstick which only contains 3g. This way I don't mind the small packaging. It is pretty handy because it does not take that much room in your makeup bag.

Die Farbe erinnert mich irgendwie ein bisschen an den neon peachigen Nagellack, den ich hier mal vorgestellt hatte. Nur nicht ganz so krass, neon. Aber es ist auch eine von den Farben, die einen tendenziell gebräunter bzw. erholter aussehen lässt, als man es eigentlich ist ;)

This lipstick kind of reminds me of the neon peach nail polish I showed you here. Just a little less neon. But it is the kind of color that makes you look more tan and more aware than you actually are ;)

Essence Lippenstift

Die zwei Lippenstifte von Essence in den Farben Coralize Me und All About Cupcake sind bei mir eingezogen. Eigentlich bevorzuge ich im Drogeriebereich Alverde, Catrice und P2 gegenüber Essence. Aber manchmal findet man dort auch tolle Produkte. Nachdem ich einige bei Youtube und auch auf Blogs von diesen Essence Lippenstiften schwärmen gehört hab, hab ich sie mir dann auch mal vor Ort angeschaut. Einige der Lippenstifte sind mir zu glitzrig. Aber diese beiden, haben mir gut gefallen. Die Lippenstifte sind sehr glossig/cremig und relativ sheer. Man kann aber dennoch gut die jeweilige Farbe sehen. All About Cupcake ist ein pink. dass keinen Schimmer enthält. Coralize Me ist, wie der Name schon sagt ein Koralton. Dieser Lippenstift enhält dezenten Schimmer, den man aber auf den Lippen kaum mehr wahrnimmt. Die Lippenstifte riechen auch lecker fruchtig und passen irgendwie zum Sommer. Für 1,95€ kann man hier nichts falsch machen...

Habt ihr auch Lippenstifte von Essence? Wie seid ihr damit zufrieden?

I normally don't really buy that many Essence products. I drugstore wise prefer Alverde, P2 and Catrice over Essence. But I heart a lot of people rave about their lipsticks, so I gave them a try. A lot of their lipsticks had too much shimmer in them for my taste. But I found two colors I liked a lot...All About Cupcake and Coralize Me. All About Cupcake is a pink without and shimmer. Coralize Me is a coral with a hint of shimmer which you barely see once applied. The lipsticks are both creamy and glossy in texture and finish. They are both rather sheer but not too sheer. They smell fruity which I like a lot for summer. For only 1.95€ they are great!

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick

Die Revlon Colorburst Lippenstifte sind dafür bekannt, dass sie eine sehr hohe Deckkraft haben.

Sie sind zudem schön cremig und auch von außen nett anzusehen. Praktisch finde ich an der Verpackung auch, dass der Deckel in der entsprechenden Lippenstiftfarbe markiert ist, so findet man schneller, was man sucht :)

Blush, eine tolle Alltagsfarbe, die die natürliche Lippenfarbe dezent unterstreicht

Rosy Nude eine etwas dunklere und farbintensivere Version von Rosy Nude, bei meinem hellen Teint schon eher was für Abends.

Mein Favorit ist ganz eindeutig die Farbe Blush.

Colorburst lipsticks are known for their great pigmentation. They are creamy in texture and I really like their packaging. In particular I enjoy that the top of the lipstick tube is colored in the lipstick color :)

Soft nude a peachy nude tone

Blush (My favorite) a really nice daytime lipstick which accentuates the natural lipcolor

Rosy Nude is a deeper version of Blush and with my fair complexion I tend to use it more at night.

My Mac Lipsticks

Ich möchte euch heute kurz meine kleine Mac Lippenstift Kollektion vorstellen:

Wie ihr feststellen werdet, bevorzuge ich eher dezentere, alltagstaugliche Farben. Mac Lippenstifte sind bekanntlich nicht gerade günstig, daher kommt es für mich nicht in Frage mir einen Lippenstift von Mac in einer Farbe zu kaufen, die ich nur 2 mal im Jahr trage...

I want to show you my little Mac lipstick collection today. I only own very wearable shades of Mac lipstick. Their lipsticks are very expensive in Germany and I am not willing to pay so much money for a lipstick I only wear once a year...

Creme d'Nude:

Eine der wohl bekanntesten Nude Lippenstifte. Es handelt sich hierbei um ein Cremesheen Lippenstift. Wie der Name schon sagt, ist er sehr cremig. Die Deckkraft ist gut. Perfekter Lippenstift für dunkles AMU.

A very famous nude lipstick. It's a cremesheen finish. It's perfect for dark eye makeup.

Shy Girl:

Ebenfalls ein Cremesheen Lippenstift. Mac beschreibt ihn als neutrales cremiges Korall-Beige. Ich würde die Farbe eher als ein sehr dezentes orange-peach beschreiben. Auf den Lippen kommt jedoch eher das Peach als das Orange zum Vorschein. Für mich ein toller Sommerlippenstift, der aber auch gut zu Smokey Eyes aussieht.

Again a cremesheen lipstick. May describes it as a creamy neutral coral beige. I think it is a orang-y peach color. On the lips it looks more peach than ornage thought. It's a great summer lipstick but also nice as a somewhat nude color to pair with smokey eyes.

Creme Cup:

Wieder ein Cremesheen Lippenstift (Merkt ihr ein Muster? ;) ). Laut Mac ein helles bläuliches Rosé. Mein persönlicher Lieblingspinkton von Mac. Nicht zu grell, aber eben doch Pink.

Another cremesheen. Mac says it's a light blue pink. It's my favorite pink lipstick from Mac. It's not too much in your face but it's still a pink.

Politely Pink:

Mein erster und eigentlich auch am seltensten getragener Lippenstift von Mac. Dieser Lippenstift hat ein Lustre Finish. Mac sagt: "Ein graustichiges Rosé". Der Lippenstift ist babyrosa, leider wirkt er auf den Lippen sehr frostig, was ich nicht so gerne mag.

My first but also least loved Mac lipstick. It's lustre finish but looks and feels more like a frost. It's a very frosty baby pink.

Bombshell:

Bombshell ist ein Frost Lippenstift. Es ist ein im Vergleich zu Creme Cup weitaus intensiveres Pink, das aber auch alltagstauglich ist.

Viva Glam V:

Ein Lustre Finish. Dieser Lippenstift fällt bei mir unter die Kategorie "My Lips but better". Ein Pink / Braun / Mauve Mix mit leichtem silber Schimmer.

Viva Glam V is a lustre. It's a "my lips but better color". It is a mixture of pink, brown, mauve with a hint of silver shimmer.

Viva Glam II:

Der Lippenstift hat ein Satin Finish. Diese Farbe hat im Gegensatz zu Viva Glam V mehr braun / beige Anteile, keinen Pinkanteil und keinen Schimmer.

Viva Glam II is a Satin Finish. It is a more brown / beige version of Viva Glam V without the pink and the shimmer in it.

Hug Me:

Dieser Lippenstift hat ein Lustre Finish. Er zählt ebenfalls zu meinen My Lips but Better Lippenstiften. Perfekt um die eigene Lippenfarbe ein bisschen zu intensivieren.

Last but not least Hug Me a lustre finish. As well as Viva Glam V a very nice my lips but better lipstick. It's great to only slightly intensify the own lip color.

Fazit:

Mit der Ausnahme von Politely Pink, bin ich mit meinen Mac Lippenstiften sehr zufrieden. Wenn ich mich für sagen wir mal nur 4 entscheiden müsste, würde ich in jedem Fall Creme d'Nude, Creme Cup, Viva Glam V und Hug Me nachkaufen.

Conclusion:

Except for Politely Pink I love all my Mac lipsticks. If I had to only choose only 4 I would definitely repurchase: Creme d'Nude, Creme Cup, Viva Glam V and Hug Me.

Calvin Klein Lips: Lipgloss

Bevor die Calvin Klein Produkte restlos vom Markt verschwinden, habe ich mir von kurzem u.a. zwei Calvin Klein Lipglosse gekauft.

- Delicious light glistering lip gloss in radar 303

- Fully delicious sheer plumping lip gloss in flair 214

Fully delicious sheer plumping lip gloss in flair ist ein Lipgloss in einem Beerenton mit dezenten, silbernen Glitzerpartikeln. Dieser Gloss hat im Gegensatz zum Delicious light glistering gloss einen Pinselapplikator. Darüber hinaus soll dieser Gloss die Lippen voller wirken lassen. Dieser Effekt blieb bei mir aus, aber das war zum Glück auch nicht mein Kaufgrund. Im Vergleich zu anderen lip plumping glosses verursacht dieser auch nicht das typisch stechende/brennende Gefühl auf den Lippen.

Fully delicious sheer plumping lip gloss in flair is a pretty berry toned gloss with some silver shimmer in it. In contrast to the Delicious light glistering gloss this gloss has a brush applicator. This lip gloss is suppost to make your lips plump. I didn't experience this effect on my lips but this lip gloss also doesn't have the typical sting other plumping lip glosses have.

In den delicious glistering lip gloss in radar habe ich mich zunächst aufgrund dieser Swatches verliebt. Ich kann den Gloss auch nicht anders beschreiben, der Gloss an sich ist fast nude jedoch mit sehr vielen pinken und peachy Schimmerpartikeln versetzt. Wie ihr unten an meinen Swatches sehen könnt ist der Gloss jedoch eher sheer. Das hat leider zur Folge, dass die extrem schöne Farbe aus der Tube so nicht auf den Lippen zur Geltung kommt. Der Lipgloss trägt sich jedoch sehr angenehm und klebt trotz einer eher dickflüssigeren Konsistenz nicht.

I first saw the delicious glistering lip gloss in radar on Temptalias Blog. I totally fell in love with the swatches of this lip gloss. I couldn't describe it any other than a almost nude lip gloss with a lot of pink and peach shimmer. As you can tell from the swatches I make the gloss is unfortunaltey is rather sheer. It does not show up as unique and pretty as it looks in the tube. But I am still in love with the color I just wish it would show up on the lips than it actally does. The gloss also feels good. Even though the consistency is rather thick it is not sticky.

Calvin Klein: Lipstick

Die Calvin Klein Makeup Kollektion wurde eingestellt, deshalb werden zur Zeit vor allem online die Restbestände zu extrem günstigen Preisen verkauft. Bevor also das CK Makeup endgültig vom Markt verschwindet, musste ich nochmal zuschlagen. Da "blindes" Einkaufen oft nur dann Sinn macht, wenn man möglichst viele Beschreibungen und / oder Swatches von Produkten online findet, möchte ich meine CK Produkte (Heute die Lippenstifte) "vorstellen".

Calvin Klein is discontinuing their make-up range. Before their products disapear from the market for good I thought I grab a few more products. Especially online the products are sold for a lot cheaper than their actual price. Online shopping for make-up items can be difficult especially if you can't find any descriptions or even better swatches of the products you are interested in. Oasis ist ein leicht matallisch bronze schimmernder Lippenstift. Ich finde ihn vor allem für einen Bronze-Sommerlook aber auch für den Herbst schön.

Oasis is a slightly metallic lipstick that has a bronze sheen. It's perfect for a bronzy-summerlook but also would be nice for fall.

Double Feature ist mir sehr ans Herz gewachsen. Es ist eine sehr natürliche Farbe, die dem Farbton meiner Lippen ähnelt. Trägt man jedoch mehr als eine Schicht auf, kommt ganz klar ein leichter Mauveton zum Vorschein.

I really got to love the color Double Feature. It's a very natural color that looks similar to my natural lip color. If I apply more than one layer a mauve color shows through.

First Kiss ist ein pinker Lippenstift, der auf den Lippen kaum sichtbar gold schimmert. Aus meiner Sicht ist es kein besonderes pink, aber sehr tragbar. Dieser Lippenstift war Teil eines Sets und ist lediglich in einer Minigröße.

First Kiss is a pink lipstick with almost invisible gold sheen. It's a very wearable pink but nothing too exciting. It was part of a kit and is only a miniature version of the full size one.

Retro ist ein sehr transparenter pinker Lippenstift. Dadurch, dass das pink so sheer ist, finde ich den Lippenstift perfekt für den Alltag. Bei diesem Lippenstift muss ich nicht lange überlegen, ob er zu meinem Outfit /Makeup passt, da er einfach zu allem passt. Er gibt den Lippen gerade genug Farbe um aufzufallen. Mit Double Feature ist er mein Lieblings-CK-Lippenstift.

Retro is a sheer pink lipstick. Because the pink is sheer it is the perfect everyday lipstick for me. I don't really have to take into consideration my outfit or makeup when I grap for this lipstick it just always matches. It just gives your lips the right amount of color to be noticed. Aside from Double Feature this is my Favorit out of the CK Lipsticks I own.

Almost Dupe Mac Hug Me

Ich habe durch Zufall gemerkt, dass der Alterra Naturkosmetik Lippenstift von der Rossmannhausmarke in der Farbe 06 Terra dem Mac Hug Me Lippenstift sehr ähnelt. Es ist nicht 100%ig die gleiche Farbe, denn der Alterra Lippenstift geht einen Tick mehr ins Rosane und der Hug Me von Mac ist in bisschen rötlich-brauner, aber auf den ersten Blick besteht doch eine große Ähnlichkeit. Das Finish ist auf jeden Fall identisch (Lustre) beide sind sehr stark pigmentiert, cremig und haben einen Wet-Look-Effekt.

Der Rossmann-Lippenstift kostet nur 2,99€, oft ist er jedoch sogar schon für 2,24€ zu haben. Der Hug Me von Mac kostet hingegen 18€. Da der Hug Me einer meiner Lieblingslippenstifte von Mac ist und ich ihn häufig benutze, ist der Alterra gelegentlich für den Alltag eine preiswerte Alternative.

I just realized that one of my drugstore lipsticks the Alterra natural cosmetic Lipstick (No. 06 - Terra) from a German drugstore called Rossmann looks pretty similar to the Mac Hug Me lipstick. They are not exactly the same color, the drugstore lipstick is slightly more pinkish and the Mac lipstick more brownish but if you don't look too closely they look pretty much alike. They have the exact same finish (Lustre) they are both highly pigmented, very creamy and both have sort of a wet-look finish.

The drugstore lipstick is only $3.50. Whereas the Mac lipstick is $14. Hug me is one of my favorite Mac lipsticks but especially in Germany Mac products are very expensive converted from € in $ we pay almost $22 for a Mac lipstick. So the drugstore lipstick is a nice alternative for everyday life. Unfortunately it is not available outside of Germany.

Summer Lips

Eine tolle Lippenkombination für den Sommer ist Mac Shy Girl und darüber den Maybelline WaterShineGloss in Peachy Pink (knapp 4€ für 5ml). Shy Girl ist ein Cremesheen. Bei Mac wird er als neutrales, cremiges Korall-Beige beschrieben. Ich finde, dass es eher ein Peach, als ein Korall ist, aber wie auch immer es ist eine tolle Farbe für den Sommer. Mit dem Peachy Pink Lipgloss von Maybelline finde ich den Lippenstift perfekt abgerundet. Dezent genug für den Alltag, mit dramatischen Smokey Eyes aber auch toll für den Abend geeignet. Ein Gold/Peach Augenmakeup kann ich mir dazu ebenfalls gut vorstellen.

I am not sure whether the Maybelline Gloss is available everywhere, I have not found it on any US website yet. Shy Girl is a cremesheen. Mac describes it as a creamy neutral coral beige. I would rather describe it as peach than coral. But it's a really pretty color anyway. The Peachy Pink gloss from Maybelline makes the look perfect for summer. It is not too much for daytime but will also look great with a smokey eye look for nighttime. A golden/peach eye makeup would also look really nice with this lip combination.
