Revlon Colorstay Quad in Sultry Smoke

Ich hatte *hier* vor einiger Zeit bereits über die Colorstay Quads von Revlon berichtet.

Mittlerweile habe ich Zuwachs bei den Quads bekommen und da mir das neue Quad in Sultry Smoke so gut gefällt, möchte ich es euch nicht vorenthalten...

Mit dem Set lässt sich ein schönes Blau/Lila Smokey Eye schminken. Für den Alltag greife ich aber auch gerne ausschließlich zu den helleren Tönen.

Insbesondere der erste Farbton hat es mir sehr angetan, da er sehr individuell ist. Es ist eine Art Flieder/Grau, die einen sehr schönen Sheen hat. Auch die zweite Farbe gefällt mir sehr gut. In Farbe sieht auf den ersten Blick wie ein dunkles Marineblau aus, der Sheen ist jedoch eindeutig mehr lila als blau. Auf dem Swatch mit Blitzlicht kommt die Farbe leider gar nicht gut rüber. Die zwei übrigen Farben im Quad sind zwar auch schön und lassen sich vor allem toll mit den anderen beiden kombinieren. Für sich genommen sind die Farben jedoch nichts außergewöhnliches. Die dritte Farbe ist ein grau/silber mit Sheen. Die letzte Farbe ist ein mattes schwarz, das jedoch nur feucht aufgetragen ein tiefschwarz ist, trägt man es trocken auf ist es eher ein smokey/grau/schwarz.

I already reviewed the Colorstay Quads from Revlon here... Since then I got another one which I also enjoy a lot and didn't want you guys to miss out on. It is the quad in the color Sultry Smoke. It is really nice to create a blue/purple smokey eye with. For daytime I also like to only use the lighter colors in the Quad. I like the first color the most because it is a very unique lilac grey tone with a pretty sheen. Also the second color is really pretty. In the pan it looks like a navy blue but once applied it has a beautiful purple sheen. Unfortunately the swatches with flash don't show how pretty this color is. The other two colors in the quad are nice to combine with the first two but on their own the colors are nothing extraordinary. The third color is a grey/silver with sheen and the last color is a matte black which is only a true black when you apply it wet. If you apply it dry it is more of a smokey grey black.

OPI Drip Dry vs. Essence Express Dry Drops

Super Sache dieses neue OPI Drip Dry Dupe von Essence (Express Dry Drops). Wie man sieht war ich bisher ein großer Fan vom OPI Drip Dry. Neben der kleineren Standardgröße (9ml)habe ich mir vor einiger Zeit sogar die große Falsche (30ml) zugelegt. Dumm gelaufen sag ich da nur, denn obwohl ich das OPI Produkt relativ günstig über Ebay erstanden habe, ist das Produkt von Essence (8ml für 1,95€) natürlich immer noch wesentlich günstiger....

Bisher habe ich kein vergleichbar gutes Produkt gefunden. Es gab mal ein Pumpspray von Essence, das den Nagellack schneller trocknen lassen sollte. Das Ergebnis war alles andere als zufriedenstellend. Zudem lässt sich ein Spray nicht punktuell sondern nur großflächig auftragen. Das finde ich eher unpraktisch, da ich das Produkt lediglich auf meinen Fingernägeln und nicht auf der ganzen Hand brauche. Auch das von vielen geliebte Seche Vite wirkt zwar, aber irgendwie habe ich doch immer lieber zu dem OPI Drip Dry gegriffen.

Beim Vergleich zwischen dem OPI und dem Essence wurde auch ganz eindeutig klar, die Wirkung ist die selbe. Einziger Unterschied ist, dass das Essence Produkt meiner Meinung nach ein wenig "öliger" schwerer von der Konsistenz ist als das Wasser ähnlichere OPI Produkt. Falls ihr versteht was ich meine. Auf die Wirkung hatte das bei mir jedoch keinen negativen Effekt. Im Gegenteil, wenn ich es mir nicht eingebildet habe, lässt sich das Essence Produkt fast einfacher auftragen, das von OPI. Das Produkt ist wie gesagt nicht ganz zu wässrig, sodass es sich von alleine besser auf dem Nagel verteilt.

Hat noch jemand beide Produkte und hat das selbe bemerkt? Würde mich mal interessieren...

The European brand Essence just released a great dupe for the OPI Drip Dry in their new collection. The product is A LOT cheaper especially because the OPI was not really sold in Germany and you had to pay shipping costs on top of the regular price. I was a huge fan of the OPI product and used it basically every time I applied nail polish. I even got the bigger bottle not that long ago. Oh well if only I had known back then... ;)

I never really found a product that worked that well for me. I had a spray to make my nail polish dry faster and I hated it. Not only did it just not work but I also ended up having the product all over my handy when I only would have needed it on my nails. You just can't apply a spray product punctual. Even the much loved Seche Vite works but I just always found myself reaching for the OPI drip drops rather than the Seche Vite.

That's why I was very excited when I realized that the Essence product and the OPI product work the exact same way. The only difference I could find was that the Essence product seems to me just slightly more oily in the consistency than the water like OPI product. I actually find that to be helpful when I apply the drops because they spread more even on my nails than the OPI one.

Stila Scarlett`s Deluxe Palette

Zur Zeit bin ich irgendwie ziemlich auf einem "Paletten Trip". Ich bin ein großer Fan von gelungenen Paletten und neben den Produkten selbst, zählt bei mir auch immer das Drumherum. Eine gelungene Aufmachung kann eine Menge bewirken. Ich denke es geht nicht nur mir so....Es macht einfach mehr Spaß ein schön verpacktes Produkt zu verwenden. Insbesondere die Marken Too Faced und Stila sind bei mir zur Zeit in Sachen Paletten die Vorreiter. Obwohl ich auch Paletten von anderen Marken (Urban Decay, TheBalm, Revlon etc.) besitze und auch sehr gerne benutze, finde ich einfach die Verpackungen von Too Faced und Stila sehr gelungen. Natürlich gefallen mir auch die Produkte an sich, die Verpackung ist einfach das i-Tüpfelchen. Besonders ansprechend finde ich es auch, dass beide Marken gerne ihre Produkte mit schönen Zitaten oder Sprüchen bereichern z.B. "Why be pretty when you can be gorgeous?"

Auch meine aktuell neuste Palette von Stila die Scarlett's Deluxe Palette, macht wieder einiges her. Die Palette ist "eigentlich" nicht wirklich neu, sondern bereits aus der Holiday 2007 Kollektion. Der reguläre Preis war wohl $34 (zumindest sagt das das Preisschild auf meiner Palette), ich konnte sie jedoch für $20(ca. 14-15€) inkl. Porto aus den USA erstehen. Die Palette beinhaltet 3 Lidschatten, einen Blush und einen Lipgloss. Die Farben sind vorwiegend eher kühl gehalten, was mir als eher Blasshäutige sehr zusagt. Die Produkte sind alle etwas schimmernd bzw. teilweise könnte man schon von feinen Glitzerpartikeln reden. Die erste Lidschattenfarbe ist ein helles kühles Babypink mit silber Schimmer/Glitzer. Der zweite Ton ist der wärmste Farbton in der Palette ein leicht golden/peachy schimmernder Pinkton. Der dritte Lidschatten ist eine blau/grau Mischung, die mir besonders gut gefällt. Der Blush ist ein heller Pinkton, der ebenfalls silbernen Schimmer/Glitzer beinhaltet. Der Farbton gefällt mir sehr gut, den Glitzer/Schimmer hätte man meiner Meinung nach hier jedoch auch weg lassen können. Der Gloss ist ein ziemlich transparentes rosa ebenfalls mit Schimmer, den man aber auf den Lippen kaum sieht.

I am a huge fan of good makeup palettes. Right now my favorite brands for palettes are Stila and Too Faced. Although I also have palettes from other brands like Urban Decay, TheBalm, Revlon...etc. I just love the package of most of the Too Faced and Stila palettes. The quality of the product itself is of course very important, but the packaging counts as well. I (like probably a lot of other people) just enjoy using a nicely packed product... I especially like that Too Faced as well as Stila tend to use quotes to personalize their products...

My latest Stila Palette is the Scarlett's Deluxe Palette. It is actually not new but from the 2007 Holiday Collection. The colors in this palette are held rather cool toned. Since I am rather fair that's perfect for me.

The palette contains 3 eyeshadows.

A very cool baby pink with silver shimmer, the warmest color in the palette a golden shimmering peachy pink eyeshadow and a blue/grey colored eyeshadow, which I like the most. Aside from the eyeshadows the palette contains a blush and a lipgloss. The blush is a very pretty light pink color with silver shimmer/glitter. I really like the color but wouldn't have needed the shimmer/glitter in this one. The lipgloss is a rather sheer pink with glitter.

Essie Sew Psyched

Die neue Herbstfarbe von Essie Sew Psyched ist ein sehr tragbarer Grünton, der auch was für Leute ist, die nicht gern zu "Farbe" bei Nagellack greifen. Das Grün ist eher "smokey", sodass es je nach dem wie der Lichteinfall ist, mal mehr mal weniger als Grün wahrgenommen wird. Alles in Allem ein gelungener Nagellack. Sowohl von der Farbe als auch vom Auftragen etc. her, kann ich den Nagellack nur weiterempfehlen.

The new fall color from Essie Sew Psyched is a very wearable green that's also for people that usually don't reach for "colors". It is a almost smokey green polish that depending on the lighting looks more or less green. It is overall a very good nail polish both the color and the application are great. Really pretty color that I will be wearing a lot in fall.

NYX Cream Blush

Heute möchte ich euch mal meine 2 NYX Cream Blushes vorstellen...

Die Verpackung erinnert stark an Mac und auch von der Qualität her werden diese Cream Blushes schon oft mit denen von Mac verglichen.

Die Cream Blushes sind EXTREM pigmentiert und demnach SUPER ergiebig. Man braucht wirklich nur die kleinste Menge um nicht wie in Clown auszusehen. Ich trage Sie mit dem Duofiber Sigma SS 188 Pinsel auf. Hierbei reicht es wirklich die dünnen Spitzen des Duofiber Pinsels einmal in den Blush zu tippen. Das Produkt lässt sich leicht verblenden. Das Ergebnis, das man mit den Cream Blushes erhält ist schön frisch und sehr natürlich. Ich denke, dass ich die Blushes im Winter, wenn meine Haut stark zur Trockenheit neigt noch öfter benutzen werde um einfach ein bisschen "Frisch" ins Gesicht zu bekommen.

Über Ebay kann man die Cream Blushes schon für $8 (ca. 6€) inkl. Versand aus den USA erwerben. Da die Blushes super ergiebig sind, ist der Preis absolut vertretbar. Wer also auf der Suche nach einem guten und preislich akzeptablen Cream Blush ist oder schon sein längerem damit liebäugelt mal einen Cream Blush zu probieren, der sollte es ruhig mal mit denen von NYX probieren, ihr werdet nicht enttäuscht werden.

Have you ever tried the NYX Cream Blushes?

I was really impressed by them. The packaging already looks a lot like the Mac one. But not only that also quality wise these Cream Blushes are really outstanding. They are extremly pigmented and a little goes a long way. I apply them with my duofiber SS 188 and I only need to dip the thin white fibers into the blush once and already have enough product. The product is probably going to last forever. I really like the results it gives me. It looks very fresh and natural. I will probably reach for this even more in winter, when my skin is dry.The cream blush is also really easy to blend. I am just overall very satisfied with this product and for a price of about $7 you can't go wrong. So everybody who is looking for a good but affordable cream blush or who just always wanted to try a cream blush should maybe have a look at the NYX once.

Revlon Illuminance Creme Eye Shadow

Seit längerem besitze ich schon die Illuminance Creme Eye Shadow Palette von Revlon in Seashells, seit neuestem ist jezt noch die Palette in Twilight dazugekommen.

Das habe ich zum Anlass genommen euch das Produkt mal vorzustellen. Wie der Name schon sagt, handelt sich um einen Creme Eye Shadow. Eigentlich bin ich kein großer Fan von cremigen Lidschatten, da sie sich meistens über Tag unschön in der Lidfalte absetzen. Wie viele andere Hersteller behauptet auch Revlon, dass die Creme Eye shadows nicht creasen, was sie jedoch tun. Trotzdem habe ich sie sehr gern gewonnen.

Zunächst einmal sind die Farben sehr schön. Die Quads beinhalten zum Teil sehr schön schimmernde Farben (Jedoch kein Glitzer) und zum Teil fast matte Farben. (Bei dem Seashells Quad ist die 3. und 4. Farbe quasi matt und beim Twilight Quad ist es die 2. Farbe) Es gibt zudem eine ziemlich große Farbauswahl. Die Creme Eye Shadows trocknen auch nicht aus. Das erste Quad habe ich schon über ein Jahr und die Farben sind noch top in Ordnung.

Da ich jedoch trotz der vielen Vorzüge keine Lidschattenstreifen am Ende des Tages auf meinen Augen haben möchte, gehe ich so vor...

Ich benutze zunächst eine Lidschatten Base, dann den Creme Eyeshadow (nicht zu dick) und trage dadrüber "normalen" Lidschatten auf. Also fungieren die Creme Eyeshadows bei mir quasi als Color Base um pudrigem Lidschatten noch ein bisschen mehr Pfiff zu verleihen.

Auf Youtube hat "pinkiecharm" (Sie macht wirklich tolle Reviews) die Creme Eye Shadows von Revlon sogar als günstigere Alternative zu der Creme Color Base von Mac genannt. Dazu kann ich jedoch nichts sagen, da ich keine Creme Color Base von Mac besitze.

Ich bin jedoch mit denen von Revlon sehr zufrieden.

Die Farben im Seashell Quad sind sehr dezent und nicht so stark pigmentiert, wenn ich eine Base benutzt und eine dieser Creme Eyeshadow Farben ganz dünn (nur als dezenten sheen) auftrage, komm ich sogar damit weg keinen puder Lidschatten darüber aufzutragen. Das ist vor allem an den Tagen praktisch, wenn man keine Zeit oder keine Lust hat sich groß Gedanken über sein Augenmakeup zu machen.

Leider sind die Creme Eye Shadow Quads nicht in Deutschland erhältlich. Ich habe meine über Brigette's Boutique erworben, hier kosten sie lediglich $ 5.25.

I really got in to the Revlon Illuminance Creme Eye Shadows. I started with the Seashelly Quad und just recently got the one in Twilight. I wanted to take that as a reason to make a little review about them.

I am usually not a huge fan of creme eye shadows because they just always end up in your crease by the end of the day. Revlon like most other companies claim that their creme eye shadows don't crease, but like all of them they do creme as well.

Why do I still like them then?

Well first of all the colors are really pretty. The Quads contain some creme shadows with a really pretty sheen and other that look almost matt (like the 3rd and 4th one in the seashell quad and the second one in the twilight quad). Revlon also offers a wide range of colors, which I like a lot. The also don't dry out. I had the seashells one for over a year and it is still in a perfect condition and has not changed it consistency.

But aside from all that I still don't want my eye shadows to crease. So that's how I use them...

I start by using a good eyeshadow base, then I apply a thin layer of a creme eye shadow of my choice and then top it with a powdery eye shadow. So basically I use them as a creme color base to give my powdery eyeshadows a boost.

A really good reviewer on youtube "Pinkiecharm" even said that they are a good and cheaper alternative to the mac equivalent the creme color bases. I can't really combare them because I don't own one from Mac, but I am perfectly satisfied with the ones from Revlon.

Since the colors in the seashell quad are rather sheer I can even get away with using only a base and a really thin layer of one of the creme eyeshadow colors from this quad. That's perfect for those days when you are in a hurry and still want some sheen on your eyeas.

Unfortunately they are not sold in Germany, that's why I had to get mine from Brigette's Boutique, where they are sold for $5.25.
