Essence Peach Punk vs. Bobbi Brown Calypso Coral

Als ich neulich die Rebels LE von Essence gesichtet hatte, erinnerte mich der lip & cheek pot in der Farbe Peach Punk doch sehr an den Bobbi Brown pot rouge in Calypso Coral. Zunächst einmal ist hier natürlich ein gehöriger Preisunterschied. Drogerie 7g für 2,45€ im Vergleich zu High-End 3,7g für 24,95€. 

Der direkte Vergleich zeige, dass sich die Produkte nicht nur hinsichtlich ihres Preises deutlich unterscheiden. Essence Peach Punk ist plump gesagt einfach Orange, wohingegen Calypso Coral eindeutig mehr Pink und Rot Anteile hat und dadurch zum klassischen Korallton wird. Ein weiterer Unterschied ist die Pigmentierung und die Konsistenz. Das Essence Produkt erinnert mich sehr an die Sleek Pout Polishes. Im Vergleich zum Bobbi Brown pot rouge ist der lip and cheek pot sehr dezent pigmentiert und von der Konsistenz sehr cremig bzw. glossig. Der BB pot rouge ist wesentlich fester und stärker pigmentiert. Beide Produkte eigenen sich laut Hersteller sowohl für die Wangen als auch für die Lippen. Aufgrund der Konsistenz würde ich jedoch sagen, dass sich das Essence Produkt eher für die Lippen eignet wohingegen das Bobbi Brown Produkt eher für die Wangen geeignet ist. Aufgrund der festen Konsistenz brauch man unter dem BB pot rouge viel Lippenpflege, damit das Produkt die Lippen nicht austrocknet. Das eher glossige Produkt von Essence ist da viel angenehmer auf den Lippen. Umgekehrt finde ich es auf den Wangen angenehmer, wenn das Produkt nicht so glossig ist. Insbesondere, da man bei dem schwächer pigmentierten Essence lip and cheek pot deutlich mehr Produkt benötigt als bei BB. 

Ich finde beide Produkte gut. Ich finde jedoch die Farbe Calypso Coral etwas interessanter und schöner als Peach Punk. Dazu kommt noch die Tatsache, dass ich Lippenprodukte lieber in Stiftform statt in kleinen Pöttchen mag, aber das ist Geschmackssache. Trotz der vermeintlichen Ähnlichkeit haben die Produkte aus meiner Sicht kaum Gemeinsamkeiten. Ich bereue es demnach auch nicht mir das teurere Produkt gekauft zu haben.

When I recently saw the latest limited edition from Essence I thought that the lip & cheek pot in peach punk (part of that LE) looked a lot like the Bobbi Brown pot rouge in calypso coral. Thus I compared them at home.

First of all there is a huge price difference. The drugstore product is only 2,45€ and you get 7g /0.24oz whereas the highend version is 24,95€ for only 3,7g / 0.13 oz of product. Besides the price difference they also don't have the same color when you see them side by side. Peach Punk is a true orange whereas calypso coral has a lot more pink and red in it which makes it a true coral. They also vary in texture and pigmentation. Essence lip and cheek pot reminds me a lot of Sleek's lip pout polishes. It is a lot less pigmented compared to the BB version and also a lot glossier. BB pot rouge is a lot harder in texture and also a lot more pigmented. Even though they are both meant to be for lips and cheeks I find that the BB pot rouge is a bit too drying on the lips thus you need a lot of lip balm underneath. The glossier Essence product is easier to wear on your lips. On the other hand I don't like glossy products on my cheek especially since you will need quite a lot of product to achieve the same pigmentation as with the BB pot rouge. I like both products however I think calypso coral is a more interesting color than peach punk. I am also not a huge fan of lip products in a pot. I thus don't regret buying the more expensive product since I guess I'll get a lot more joy out of it.

Essence Highlighter-Pen

 

Ich habe mir neulich den neuen Highlighter-Pen von Essence zum testen mitgenommen. 1,5 ml kosten 2,45€. Ich habe neben Blush und wohl auch Bronzern auch eine kleine Schwäche für Highlighter ;) Den Pen habe ich mir vor allem für das Highlighten des Augeninnenwinkels zugelegt. Die Konsistenz ist flüssig/cremig fast gelartig. Einmal getrocknet hält das Produkt sehr gut. Die Farbe ist Champagner mit einem Hauch Pastell-Rosa. Für meinen Geschmack hätte der Schimmer etwas dezenter ausfallen können. Ich mag eher ein frostiges Finish zum Highlighten als "richtige" einzeln sichtbare Schimmer- /Glitzerpartikel. Daher musste ich feststellen, dass der Pen nicht so wirklich meinen Geschmack trifft. :(

I recently got this new highlighting pen from Essence. I am a huge fan of blush, bronzers as well as highlighters. I wanted this pen for highlighting the inner corner of the eyes.The highlighter is creamy and easy to apply. Once it is dried it stays where you applied it. The color is a champagne with a hint of light pink. Very pretty. The finish is however what I am not a huge fan of. It is not fine enough since you are able to detect individual shimmer particles which I am not into for highlighting the inner corner of your eye.

Von Catrice gibt es jetzt neuerdings wohl auch einen Highlighterstift, allerdings in einem Stick und nicht mit Pinsel etc. Hat den schon mal jemand getestet und kann mir etwas zum Finish im Vergleich zum Essence Highlighterpen sagen? 

Essence Marble Mania Blush "Swirlpool"

Mich hat der Hype um den Marble Mania Blush (Swirlpool) von Essence eigentlich eher weniger mitgerissen. Ich habe das Blush aber interessehalber doch mal im Geschäft geswatched und war dann doch von der Farbe sehr angetan. Also durfte es für 3,45€ mit. Enthalten sind 7g. Das Rouge ist wie ihr unschwer erkennen könnt marmoriert, wie fast alles aus dieser LE. Im Endeffekt ergibt sich aus den Farben ein frisches Pink mit leichtem Koralle-Einschlag. Das Blush enthält keine Glitzer- oder grobe Schimmerpartikel hat dafür jedoch einen wunderschönen "Glow", der einem eine natürliche Frische verleiht. Einziger Nachteil ist für mich die mittelmäßige Haltbarkeit. Wobei ich da mittlerweile auch ziemlich verwöhnt bin mit den Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes und seinesgleichen. Einen feuchten Auftrag des Blushes habe ich bisher auch noch nicht getestet, das würde vermutlich für eine längere Haltbarkeit sorgen, allerdings befürchte ich, dass der Glow dann etwas zu intensiv und vielleicht sogar metallisch werden könnte...Nichtsdestotrotz ist das Blush definitiv einen "Swatch" im Geschäft wert. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist meiner Meinung nach top und wer großen Wert auf eine top Haltbarkeit legt, wird sicher mit einem Cremerouge als Base oder ähnlichen Tricks die Haltbarkeit steigern können.

Habt ihr euch das Blush auch zugelegt?

I was not all that interested when the Hype about the new Essence limited edition blush from the Marble Mania collection in the color Swirlpool started. However I was curious enough to swatch it in the store one day. Finally I understood the Hype about this blush. It is a marbled blush but once the colors are swirled together you get a corally pink blush. It does not contain any obvious shimmer particles but it has a very pretty natural glow which makes you look fresh and healty. The only downside is that it does fade on me during the day. But I have to admit that I am quite spoiled with blushes like the Amazonian Clay blushes from Tarte. I have not tried to apply the blush with a damp brush yet. I am sure it would make it last longer but I am also affraid it might turn out too glowy and almost metallic then. However I am overall impressed with this blush. You get a great product for your money (3,45€ for 7g of product). If you are concerned about the staying powder I am sure there are ways to improve it for example by applying it over a cream blush.

OPI Bubble Bath

Bubble Bath ist ein Nagellack aus dem Best of the Best Set von OPI. Warum es dieser Nagellack unter die besten geschafft hat, ist mir leider nicht so ganz klar. Nach drei Schichten hatte ich das auf dem Foto erkennbare Ergebnis erzielt. Es ist ein sehr natürlicher My-Nails-But-Better-Look. Das Ergebnis erinnert mich stark an eine rosanere Version von Essence Pro White French  Nagelaufheller. Mit dem wesentlichen Unterschied, dass der Essence Lack ein vergleichbares Ergebnis mit nur einer Schicht erreicht.

Bubble Bath was a polish from the Best of the Best set from OPI. I am not quite sure why this polish made it in the Best of the Best set from OPI. I needed three coats to achieve the result you can see in the picture. It is a very natural My-nails-but-better-Look. It looks very neat but I can achive a very similar result with my Essence Pro White French polish. The main difference is that the OPI polish gives you a slight pastel pink look whereas the Essence polish is more of a white hue. However I only need one coat of the Essence polish to achieve the same level of opaqueness.

Essence Crystalliced LE -Mein Einkauf

Die Essence Crystalliced LE hat mich vor allem mit den "Iced Age Reloaded" Produkten angesprochen. Hier durfte der Nagellack und der Flüssige Lidschatten mit. Zudem hat auch der Highlighter ein neues Zuhause gefunden.

I really liked the "Iced Age Reloaded" nail polish and liquid eyeshadow as well as the highlighter from the Essence Crystalliced LE. Thus I will show you some swatches of them today.

Der Nagellack ist farblich eine Mischung aus Taupe und Kitt mit goldenem Schimmer. Eine sehr schicke Farbe wie ich finde. Dafür, dass der Lack so hell ist, hat eine Schicht schon überraschend gut gedeckt. Eine zweite benötigt man jedoch, wenn man den Nagel nicht mehr durchsehen möchte.

The nail polish is a very light taupe color with a slight grey undertone and gold shimmer. It is a very sophisticated color. Even though it is rather light one coat already has a surprisingly good coverage. But you will need two coats for complete opaqueness.

Der Lidschatten hat eine ähnliche Farbe. Ich finde die Farbe toll um sie auf dem gesamten Lid aufzutragen um den Augen ein bisschen mehr Ausdruck zu verleihen.

The eyeshadow has a similar color. It is perfect to apply all over the eyelid to give you a polished look. 

Zu guter Letzt der Highlighter. Er ist in einem Pumpspender was ich sehr praktisch und hygienisch finde. Der Highlighter ist sehr hell fast weißlich mit einem schönen Sheen. 

Last but not least the highlighter. It is in a pump dispenser which is very practial and hygienic at the same time. The highlighter is almost white and gives a beautiful sheen.

Essence Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palette

Yay ich darf sie mein eigenen nennen. Ich liebe Paletten und bin vor allem ein Fan von verspielten Paletten, wie man sie sonst nur von Urban Decay oder Too Faced kennt. Leider werden diese Marken nicht in Deutschland vertrieben und können nur über Onlinestores erworben werden. Darüber hinaus sind sie eher im Highend Bereich angesiedelt. Eine durchaus vergleichbar süße Palette gibt es zur Zeit von Essence für nur 9,95€. Kurzum die Palette hat es mir angetan und ich wollte gerne zu den glücklichen Besitzerinnen gehören :) Leider gibt es die Palette nur in ausgewählten Verkaufsstätten. Ich hatte im Internet gelesen, dass es die Palette u.a. im Essence Store in Frankfurt in der Zeilgalerie zu kaufen gibt. Kurzerhand habe ich mich heute entschlossen einen kleinen "Ausflug" nach Frankfurt zu unternehmen. Im Essence Store angekommen, musste ich leider erfahren, dass die Palette schon ausverkauft ist :( Zum Glück hatte ich noch einen Plan B, denn ich hatte auch gelesen, dass der Karstadt auf der Zeil die Palette anbietet. Also ging es ab zu Karstadt und tatsächlich da gab es die Paletten und sogar einen Tester. Die Paletten, die zum Verkauf angeboten werden sind alle eingeschweißt, sodass sie nicht fälschlicherweise als Tester missbraucht werden können :) Wer also aus Frankfurt und Umgebung kommt und es ebenfalls auf die Palette abgesehen hat, kann dort auch sein Glück versuchen. Ich drück euch die Daumen. Jetzt gibt es erstmal ein paar Bilder und meine ersten Eindrücke...

I have to confess I love cute packaging when it comes to makeup palettes. I love the Too Faced and Urban Decay palettes not just because of the amazing products that are inside. When I saw the promotion pictures of the limited edition eyeshadow palette from Essence I fell in love. It reminds me a lot of the palettes from Too Faced ans Urban Decay. It was only suppost to be 9,95€ which a lot less then the highend prices of the already mentioned brands. The problem was only to get my hands on the palette. Only a few selected stores where gonna sell the palette. I heard one of them was the Essence Store in Frankfurt. Thus I went there today. Unfortunately the lady who worked there told me that they where already sold out. I had read that the Karstadt in Frankfurt also had them. Guess where I went next. Exactly! Now guess what I found there?! YES, they had the palette. I quickly want to show you some pictures and give you my first impressions...

So nun aber zur Palette:

Verpackung und Design:
Süß. Wie bereits erwähnt erinnert es mich stark an Too Faced und Urban Decay. Ich finde die Packung sehr ansprechend. Die Motive passen auch perfekt zum Herbst und Winter. Praktisch ist auch, dass im Deckel ein Spiegel ist. Die Produkte sind dann in einer Schublade. Die Schublade sitzt fest in der Verpackung, sodass man sich keine Sorgen machen muss, dass sie ungewollt von alleine aufgeht. Wenn man die Schublade fest genug zieht, kann man sie auch vollkommen aus der Verpackung herausnehmen und seperatur zum Schminktisch oder zum Spiegel transportieren. Das finde ich sehr praktisch, da die herausgezogene Schublade mit dem Rest der Verpackung doch recht groß und daher eher unhandlich ist.

Inhalt:
Enthalten sind 12 Lidschatten und 2 Geleyeliner sowie 2 Pinsel. Die Pinsel sind gar nicht hinten auf der Palette aufgeführt, dabei finde ich sie durchaus erwähnenswert. Enthalten sind sowohl ein Eyelinerpinsel als auch ein Lidschattenpinsel. Den Lidschattenpinsel finde ich besonders gelungen. Er ist fluffig genug, damit man damit auch gut verblenden kann. Er läuft vorne etwas spitzer zu, sodass man ihn auch als Pencilbrush zum etwas präziseren Auftragen verwenden kann. Für mich eine Palette bei der die Pinsel eindeutig man nicht Nebensache sind. :)

P.S. Pinsel auf jeden Fall vor dem ersten Gebrauch waschen. Vor allem der Lidschattenpinsel hat stark abgefärbt.

Die Farbauswahl:

Die Farbauswahl finde ich weitgehend gelungen. Etwas schade finde ich, dass zwei Pinktöne enthalten sind. Den wenigsten steht pinker Lidschatten. Aber da sie beide links außen positioniert sind, werde ich versuchen sie ststtdessen als Rouge zu verwenden. Ansonsten hätte ich vermutlich nur einen lila Lidschatten in die Palette genommen und anstelle des zweiten Lilatons lieber noch einen grünlichen Lidschatten gewählt. Aber das ist Kritik auf sehr hohem Niveau. Vor allem die rechte Spalte, die sehr alltagstaugliche Brauntöne enthält und sogar ein vollkommen mattes Braun finde ich top. Aber auch die anderen Farben finde ich bis auf die bereits genannten Verbesserungsvorschlage gut gewählt. Es ist toll, dass neben den Erdtönen auch etwas "buntere" Lidschatten enthalten sind und die ersten beiden Lidschatten aus der linken Spalte erscheinen mir zum highlighten gut geeignet. Auch die Farben der Geleyeliner finde ich gut. Sie dürften vermutlich den meisten stehen. Ich bin jedoch gespannt wie lange die Eyeliner halten ohne einzutrocknen.

Qualität:

Zunächst möchte ich in dem Zusammenhang sagen, dass das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis wirklich TOP ist. 12 Lidschatten und 2 Geleyeliner sowie 2 Pinsel kosten lediglich knapp 10€. Ein paar der Lidschatten krümeln etwas, das finde ich jedoch bei Lidschatten aus dem Drogeriebereich nicht unbedingt ein Armutszeugnis. Die Pigmentierung ist eigentlich bei allen Lidschatten gut. Einzig der pinkte Lidschatten ganz links unten in der Ecke ist etwas schwächer pigmentiert. Das empfinde ich bei der Farbe jedoch auch als angemessen. Alles in allem finde ich die Qualität der Lidschatten und Geleyeliner wirklich gut.

Packaging and Design:

I love the packaging. It reminds me a lot of palettes from Too Faced and Urban Decay. The theme also fits the autumn and winter months. I like the mirror in the lid auf the palette. The actual products are in a little drawer which shuts tightly so you don't have to worry that it will come out by itself. If you dull hard enough you can even take out the drawer all the way so you can take it seperate from the rest of the packaging to your vanity or wherever you do you makeup.

Content:

The palette contains 12 eyeshadows and 2 gel eyeliners as well as 2 brushes. The brushes are not mentioned at the back of the packaging eventhough I find them rather noteworthy. There is one eyeliner brush and an eyeshadow brush. I love the eyeshadow brush it is fluffy enough to blend eyeshadow with but it is also a little pointy at the top so you can use it as a pencil brush to be more precise.

Color selection:

I mainly like the color selection in this palette. I just didn't like that they added 2 pink shadows. Who can wear pink eyeshadow,- I can't. But since they are all the way in the left corner I might try to use them as blush. I also think one purple shadow would have been enough I would rather have added a green shade instead of the second purple eyeshadow. But those are really small complaints. I love the nude/ brown shades all the way to the right. They are perfect for everyday looks. There is even a totally matt brown shadow. I also like that they added some "real" colors like the purple and the silver and the blush color. The colors all the way in the left upper corner seem light enough to be used as a highlighter on your browbone or even your cheekbone. I also like the colors of the gel eyeliner they are really wearable and will probabaly suit most people.

Quality:

First of all I want to say that for the small price of only 10€ the palette is amazing. Some of the shadows have some fallout because they are kind of dusty/crumbly. But I don't think that is the end of the world especially not when we are talking about a drugstore product. The pigmentation of the shadows is really good. The only color that is a little less prigmented is the bright pink eyeshadow all the way in the left bottom corner. But since we are talking about a rather bright pink eyeshadow who would want that to be intensely pigmented anyway? Overall I think the palette has a really good quality and I am lucky to have it! :)

Essence Vampire's Love Blush Gelee vs. Benefit's Benetint

Neben den Nagellacken, durfte auch das blush gelee in den Einkaufskorb. Die Verpackung ist schon mal sehr gelungen. Ein Pumpspender ist immer praktisch und hygienisch. 13ml haben 2,49€ gekostet.

Next to the nail polish I also got the blush gelee from the Vampire's Love LE. I already liked the packaging because it has a pump which is really handy and sanitary. 13 ml are only 2,49€.

Das Blush Gelee hat wie der Name schon sagt eine Gel-Konsistenz, die ich sehr praktisch finde. Ein kleiner Klecks reicht schon für beide Wangen aus.

The blush gelee has a jelly (=gelee in German) consistency. A tiny bit is enough for both cheeks.

Das Blush Gelee lässt sich gut verteilen. Das Gelee zieht nach kurzer Zeit ein und hinterlässt kein klebriges Hautgefühl. Die Farbe finde ich sehr natürlich.

The blush gelee ist really easy to apply. The gelee does not leave a sticky feeling on your skin once it is applied. The color is really natural.

Im Vergleich zu Benefits Benetint, das sehr ähnlich funktioniert, ist das Blush Gelee von der Farbe her etwas beeriger. Das Essence Produkt ist aufgrund der Gel-Konsistenz einfacher aufzutragen als das flüssige Produkt von Benefit. Mit 12,5 ml beinhaltet Benetint fast soviel Produkt wie das Blush Gelee jedoch zu einem deutlich höheren Preis (32,95€).

Compared to Benefit's Benetint the blush gelee from Essence works the same. Benetint is slightly more pink whereas the blush gelee is more of a berry-pink. I prefer the gel consistency of the Essence blush over the liquid Benetint because it is just a lot easier to apply. Benetint contains 12.5 ml which is almost as much as the blush gelee but for a much higher price. But to be fair I think Benetint will last you longer. Anyway I really like the blush gelee :)

Auch wenn das Essence blush gelee auf dem vorherigen Bild blasser aussieht als das Benetint, liegt das nur an dem Lichtwinkel, sie sind beide in etwa gleich intensiv.

Benetint just appears to be more color intense in the picture above. They have about the same pigmentation.

Essence Vampire's Love Nagellack

Ich habe gestern die LE in unserem DM-Markt entdeckt. Kostenpunkt 1,79€ für 10ml.

Die Nagellacke habe ich für euch geswatched:

Überraschender Weise haben die dunklen Farben "Hunt me if you can" und "Gold old Buffy" schlechter gedeckt als die helleren Farben.

I found the Essence LE called Vampire's Love at our local DM-Markt yesterday. I have some swatches of the nail polishes from this LE for you :) The darker colors needed surprisingly more coats compared to the other colors.

Obwohl der Nagellack "Gold old Buffy" nicht so toll deckt hat, gefällt er mir im Endeffekt am besten. Er erinnert mich auch irgendwie an den Basic Nagellack, den ich euch hier schon vorgestellt hatte.

Although "Gold old Buffy" needed the most coats to be opaque I like it the most. The color is really pretty and reminds me of the Basic nail polish I showed you in this post.

Essence Gel Eyeliner

Ich habe einen Gel Eyeliner im Drogeriebereich gefunden, der für mich funktioniert. Definitives plus ist die Farbabgabe sowie die lange Haltbarkeit. Der Gel Eyeliner ist ein wenig softer als den, den ich bisher von Bobbi Brown verwendet habe, aber damit kann ich leben. Weil er so cremig ist, hat man schnell zuviel auf dem Pinsel, daher streiche ich das überschüssige Produkt immer am inneren Rand ab. Man kann den Pinsel natürlich auch am Handrücken oder ähnlichem abstreichen. Der Gel Eyeliner ist dann super einfach aufzutragen. Ich benutze dafür einen abgeschrägten Eyeliner-Pinsel.

Vermutlich wird der Eyeliner demnächst noch bei mir in braun einziehen. Die anderen Farben sprechen mich persönlich weniger an. Ein tolles royalblau würde ich mir noch Wünschen. Die Farbe "Berlin Rocks", die auf der Homepage von Essence wie ein schönes Blau wirkt, ist in echt leider eher lila als blau.

3 ml kosten 2,99€.

I found a gel eyeliner in the drugstore that works perfectly for me. It contains 3ml and costs 2,99€ and it is from Essence. The consistency is a little softer than my Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner which used to be my favorite. Because the texture is rather soft you can easily get to much product onto your brush. Thus I wipe of any extra product at the edge of the glas container (you could just as well wipt it off at the back of your hand). The great thing about this product is that it is a rich color and it lasts forever! Once you have the right amount of product on your brush it is really easy to apply the product.

Essence Lippenstift

Die zwei Lippenstifte von Essence in den Farben Coralize Me und All About Cupcake sind bei mir eingezogen. Eigentlich bevorzuge ich im Drogeriebereich Alverde, Catrice und P2 gegenüber Essence. Aber manchmal findet man dort auch tolle Produkte. Nachdem ich einige bei Youtube und auch auf Blogs von diesen Essence Lippenstiften schwärmen gehört hab, hab ich sie mir dann auch mal vor Ort angeschaut. Einige der Lippenstifte sind mir zu glitzrig. Aber diese beiden, haben mir gut gefallen. Die Lippenstifte sind sehr glossig/cremig und relativ sheer. Man kann aber dennoch gut die jeweilige Farbe sehen. All About Cupcake ist ein pink. dass keinen Schimmer enthält. Coralize Me ist, wie der Name schon sagt ein Koralton. Dieser Lippenstift enhält dezenten Schimmer, den man aber auf den Lippen kaum mehr wahrnimmt. Die Lippenstifte riechen auch lecker fruchtig und passen irgendwie zum Sommer. Für 1,95€ kann man hier nichts falsch machen...

Habt ihr auch Lippenstifte von Essence? Wie seid ihr damit zufrieden?

A lot of their lipsticks had too much shimmer in them for my taste. But I found two colors I liked a lot...All About Cupcake and Coralize Me. All About Cupcake is a pink without and shimmer. Coralize Me is a coral with a hint of shimmer which you barely see once applied. The lipsticks are both creamy and glossy in texture and finish. They are both rather sheer but not too sheer. They smell fruity which I like a lot for summer. For only 1.95€ they are great!

DIY Chanel Black Pearl Dupe

Die Idee ist geklaut. Aber ich fand sie so gut, dass ich es gerne mal selbst probieren wollte. Ausgerüstet mit einem Essence Nagellack in der Farbe Must Have sowie zwei frün schimmernden Lidschatten/Pigment. Nämlich dem Essence Lidschatten in Love Talk (metllic effect) sowie einer Pigmentprobe von Glamour Doll in der Farbe Skinny Jeans. Mit der Spitze einer desinfizierten Nagelfeile habe ich dann den Lidschatten und das Pigment in den Nagellack geschaufelt, immer schön rühren und schütteln und tada, hab ich mir ca. 20€ gespart. Es ist vielleicht kein perfektes Dupe, aber ich finde es ähnlich genug und es gefällt mir. :)

I stole the idea from someone else. But I thought it was so cool that I wanted to try it myself. I bought a dark (gry/black) shimmery nail polish from the drugstore. In my case it's the Essence polish in Must have. And I took two different green shimmery eye shadows / pigments. I took the peak of a disinfected nail file to get the pigment in the small opening of the nail polish bottle. Shake it well and stir it a little and there you saved a whole lot of money. It might not be perfect but it's close enough for me. :) The consistency of the nail polish will change a little but it is still good to work with.

Essence P2 LE Haul + Mac Dupe + Tarte Cheek Stain Vergleich

Ich habe gestern die neue P2 LE home sweet home sowie die Essence LE Blossoms etc... entdeckt.

Der Kauf viel etwas anders aus als erwartet...

Den Essence liquid blush habe ich mir wider Erwarten nicht gekauft, er war mir zu flüssig, zu wenig Farbe und ein bisschen zu viel Glitzer. Der Liquid blush hatte zwar offiziell keinen Tester, aber da sich vor mir schon jemand an dem Liquid Blush vergangen hatte, tropfte das Produkt ohnehin schon aus dem Pumpspender. Statt dem Essence Liquid Blush sind es dann jedoch die P2 Blush Sticks geworden. Sie sind nicht schimmernd / glitzernd und die zwei Farben sind wirklich toll. Sie erinnern mich stark an die Cheek Stains von Tarte. Aus der P2 LE durfte außerdem noch der Nagellack in blue sky mit, ein tolles Pastellblau.

Bei Essence konnte ich dann dem Nagellack A Hint of Mint sowie dem Nagellack und dem passenden Lidschattenduo in Forget Me Not nicht widerstehen.

Den Nagellack Forget me Not trage ich auch gerade, eine richtig tolle Gute-Laune-Farbe. Ein Fliederton mit blauem Schimmer, der jedoch auf dem Nagel kaum zur Geltung kommt. Der Auftrag ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Ich kann nicht genau sagen, ob es an dem Pinsel oder an der Konsistenz liegt...aber immerhin ist der Nagellack schon nach einer Schicht deckend.

I got several things from the recent LE from P2 (home sweet home) as well as Essence (Blossoms etc...).

From the P2 LE I got 2 blush sticks in Fresh Apricot and Soft Pink, they remind me of Tarte's Cheek Stains a little. I also got the LE Polish in blue sky from P2.

From the Essence collection I got two polishes Hint of Mint and Forget me Not as well as an eyeshadow duo in Forget me Not.

I already painted my nails in Forget Me Not which is a really happy color. It's a lilac with a hint of blue shimmer which is unfortunately not really noticeable once the polish is applied.

Swatches gibt es auch direkt vom gleichnamigen Lidschattenduo von Essence. Die Swatches links sind mit Primer, die rechts ohne. Die erste Farbe kommt ohne Primer leider nicht so toll zur Geltung. Die zweite Farbe von dem Duo könnte übrigens ein Dupe für MAC Crystal sein. Ich war zufällig am selben Tag bei Mac und habe ebenso zufällig den Mac Lidschatten Crystal geswatched. Zuhause beim swatchen von dem Essence Duo hatte ich dann ein kleines Déjà-vu.

Here are swatches of the eyeshadow duo in Forget me Not. The first swatches are over a base the second are without a base. The first color doesn't really show off without a base. The second color is btw a Dupe for Mac Crystal. I went to a Douglas the same day I bought this duo and I randomly swatched Crystal. Later at home when I swatched this duo I thought I had a déjà-vu. They look pretty much the same. Too bad I washed of the Crystal swatch from MAC so I can't show pictures of a comparison...

Wie bereits erwähnt erinnern mich die P2 Blush Sticks an die Tarte Cheek Stains. Ich habe hier ein Mini Exemplar in der Farbe Tipsy. Der Mini von Tarte ist in etwa so groß wie die P2 Blush Sticks.

Die Farbabgabe ist bei dem Tarte Cheek Stain erheblich besser als bei den P2 Blush Sticks.

Um eine ähnliche Farbabgabe zu erzielen, musste ich viel mehr P2 Produkt verwenden als bei dem Tarte Cheek Stain.

Der Tarte Cheek Stain ist auch ein bisschen mehr gelartig wohingegen die Blush Sticks ein bisschen cremiger sind. Hierdurch kommt vermutlich auch der Unterschied in der Haltbarkeit zustande. Der Tarte Cheek Stain hält besser. Beim wegwischen der Swatches, blieb an der Stelle wo ich den Tarte Cheek Stain geswatched hatte Farbe zurück, bei denen von P2 nicht. Ich habe die P2 Produkte noch nicht auf den Wangen aufgetragen, aber ich vermute, dass sie sich dort ähnlich verhalten. Ich denke aber, dass sie mit einem Hauch Blush (puder) fixiert gut halten werden.

Mir persönlich gefällt auch der Effekt den der Cheek Stain von Tarte erzielt etwas besser, das Ergebnis ist frischer und man hat einen tollen Glow. Das liegt wohl an der Geltextur und an den dezenten Schimmerpartikeln im Tarteprodukt.

Für 2,65€ finde ich die P2 Blush Sticks trotz allem ein tolles LE Produkt. :)

Fresh Apricot ist Tipsy von Tarte farblich etwas ähnlich. Tipsy hat jedoch im Gegensatz zu Fresh Apricot einen größeren Pinkanteil.

Like I already mentioned. The P2 LE blush sticks kind of remind me of the Tarte Cheek Stains. I only have one Mini in Tipsy by Tarte and I made a little comparison.

The Tarte Mini has almost the same size as the P2 Blush sticks.

Tarte's Cheek Stain has a better color payoff. I needed a lot more P2 product to end up with the same color intensity. The Cheek Stains are also more of a gel texture than the P2 ones which are slightly more creamy. That might also explain why the Tarte Stain lasts longer. When I wiped of the swatches from the back of my hand the P2 ones were totally gone and the Tarte one still somewhat lasted. But I imagine that the P2 ones will last all they if you set them with a little bit of powder blush. I do however prefer the finish of the Tarte Cheek Stain. It is a little more fresh and vivid than the more flat looking Blush Sticks from P2. They are of course fresh looking compared to powder blush but they are not as fresh looking as Tarte. Probably because of the gel texture of Tarte and the slight shimmer in Tipsy which the P2 Blush Sticks don't have.

But for only 2,65€ I can still recommand the P2 Blush Sticks. They are just not as good as the Tarte Cheek Stain, but also only a fraction of the price.

P2's Blush Stick in Fresh Apricot looks a little similar in color to Tipsy but has less pink to it.
