NYX "I dream of Nevis" palette

Da es ja jetzt in Frankfurt auf der Zeil bei Douglas auch NYX Counter gibt, musste ich natürlich auch mal wieder hin. Mit durfte diese "I dream of Nevis" Palette  aus der Caribbean Collection. Für 8,95€ gibt es 5 Lidschatten. Die Farben in dieser Palette sind neutrale Alltagstöne. Die Lidschatten haben eine tolle Qualität. Enttäuschend war lediglich die vierte Farbe, die für meinen Geschmack wirklich absolut unbrauchbar ist. Die Textur lässt sich schwer beschreiben. Eigentlich sind es nur grobe Farbpartikel, mit denen man nicht wirklich arbeiten kann. Die anderen Farben sind dafür umso schöner. :) Da ich mit der vierte Farbe nichts anfangen kann, wollte ich die Lidschatten depotten und die vierte Farbe entsorgen. Leider hat sich das depotten bei der Palette ziemlich schwierig gestaltet, sodass mir das dunkle braun bei der Aktion kaputt gegangen ist. Aus Angst auch noch die anderen drei schönen Lidschatten zu zerbrechen, habe ich das depotten dann doch sein lassen. :/

Since there is a NYX counter in Frankfurt now I recently went there and got the "I dream of Nevis" palette from the Carribbean Collection. I like the neutral colors that can be worn everyday. The quality of the eyeshadows is really nice. The only color that I can't get any use out of is the 4th shade. The color pigments are really chunky and the texture makes it impossible to work with. I tried to depot the other eyeshadows so I could get rid off the 4th shade, thereby I unfortunately broke the dark brown. :/ I stopped depotting the other eyeshadows because I was too affraid I would break the others as well.

Vor allem die Blushes kann ich euch sehr an Herz legen, die sind nämlich wirklich top. Aber auch die Lip Enhancing Lipgloss mag ich sehr gerne. :)

Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Last Lipstick

Heute möchte ich euch mal meine zwei Wet 'n' Wild Mega Last Lippenstifte vorstellen. Ich besitze sie in den Farben "Think Pink" und  "Just Peachy". In den USA sind die Lippenstifte ziemlich gehyped, daher habe ich mich gefreut, dass ich sie im Zuge eines Swaps erstehen konnte. Die Lippenstifte sind ziemlich matt, haben eine extrem hohe Deckkraft und halten ziemlich lange auf den Lippen. Bei einem matten Lippenstift erwarte ich auch automatisch einen trockenen und die Lippen austrocknenden Lippenstift. Das ist hier zum Glück nicht der Fall. Aufgrund der hohen Deckkraft und des matten Finishes sollte man jedoch vor dem auftragen keine spröden Lippen haben. Am Besten vorher nochmal schnell ein Lippenpeeling machen, denn sonst betonen die Lippenstifte unschön trockene Lippen. Leider setzten sich die Lippenstifte vor allem Think Pink auch gerne in die kleinen Lippenfältchen ab. Da ich vor allem im Winter selten perfekt gepflegte Lippen habe, trage ich vor dem Lippenstift immer eine Lippenpflege auf.  Hierdurch geht zwar der Matt-Effekt verloren und auch die Haltbarkeit leidet etwas darunter, dafür sieht der Look jedoch gepflegt aus und ich kann die schönen Farben tragen. Vor allem "Just Peachy" hat es mir sehr angetan.

I was able to get the Wet n Wild Mega Last lipsticks in "Just Peachy" and "Think Pink" in a swap a while ago. They are very hyped in the US thus I was happy to get to try them myself. They are rather matt, extremly pigmented and last really long. Usually I expect a drying lipstick when I think about matt lipsticks. These ones are however not that dry nor drying. But you should peel your lips before applying these lipsticks because they really emphasize dry lips and they also get into the fine lines of your lips. Since I don't have perfect lips in the wintertime I always apply a lip balm before the lipstick. This way the matt effect is ruined and they don't stay as long, but at least I can wear the lipsticks without having my lips look like they are dry and wrinkly. I really like the colors especially "Just Peachy" is really gorgeous.

OPI Bubble Bath

Bubble Bath ist ein Nagellack aus dem Best of the Best Set von OPI. Warum es dieser Nagellack unter die besten geschafft hat, ist mir leider nicht so ganz klar. Nach drei Schichten hatte ich das auf dem Foto erkennbare Ergebnis erzielt. Es ist ein sehr natürlicher My-Nails-But-Better-Look. Das Ergebnis erinnert mich stark an eine rosanere Version von Essence Pro White French  Nagelaufheller. Mit dem wesentlichen Unterschied, dass der Essence Lack ein vergleichbares Ergebnis mit nur einer Schicht erreicht.

Bubble Bath was a polish from the Best of the Best set from OPI. I am not quite sure why this polish made it in the Best of the Best set from OPI. I needed three coats to achieve the result you can see in the picture. It is a very natural My-nails-but-better-Look. It looks very neat but I can achive a very similar result with my Essence Pro White French polish. The main difference is that the OPI polish gives you a slight pastel pink look whereas the Essence polish is more of a white hue. However I only need one coat of the Essence polish to achieve the same level of opaqueness.

Urban Decay -Book of Shadows IV

YAY - Es ist endlich angekommen :)

Lange habe ich mich darauf gefreut, jetzt ist es endlich da. Das Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV. Es ist das erste Book of Shadows, dass ich von Urban Decay habe. Im Gegensatz zu den bisherigen Book of Shadows sind in diesem viele neutrale Töne enthalten, was ich sehr ansprechend finde.
Neben 16 Lidschatten sind in der Palette noch ein 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, eine Mini Primer Potion, sowie eine Mini Supercurl Curling Mascara enthalten. Es gibt außerdem noch etwas technisches Zubehör. Ein Mini-Lautsprecher, denn man sowohl mit USB als auch mit einem Audio-Stecker (heißt der so?) nutzen kann. Ebenfalls dabei ist eine Karte mit 5 QR-Codes, die einen via Smartphone zu Make-up Tutorials führen. Eine wirklich tolle Idee, etwas ärgerlich nur, dass man als nicht Smartphone-Besitzer nur schwer Zugriff auf die Videos hat.

I have been waiting for what seems like forever and not it finally arrived. :) The book of shadows IV from Urban Decay. It is the first book of shadows I got. I was never a huge fan of the book of shadows because they always contained too many bright less wearable eyeshadows. I like that this contains a lot of neutrals as well as bright colors. Aside from 16 eyeshadows this palette contains a 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, a travel-size Primer Potion and a travel-size Supercurl Curling Mascara. There are also some technical tools like a mini speaker and a USB cord and an audio cable so you can connect the speakers to your phone, MP3-player or computer. The book of shadows IV also comes with a card with 5 QR-codes which lead you to exclusive tutorials. 

Kommen wir zu den Lidschatten. Für mich die perfekte Mischung aus einer Vielzahl neutralen Tönen und ein paar schönen Farben. Die Lidschatten sind alle sehr buttrig und toll pigmentiert. Einzig die zwei "Glitzerkandidaten" Midnight Cowgirl und Midnight Rodeo sind ziemlich krümmlig. Bei diesen Lidschatten gibt es leider auch sehr viel Fallout. Laut dem Makeup-Artist in den Tutorials soll man sie mit den Fingern auftragen, damit der Glitzer nicht überall im Gesicht landet. Das wird den Fallout sicher etwas reduzieren aber nicht vollständig vermeiden. Eine weitere Ausnahme stellt Crystal dar. Dieser Lidschatten ist im Vergleich zu den anderen relativ sheer. 

Ich bin froh, dass in der Palette nur zwei Lidschatten mit grobem Glitzer enthalten sind. Laut Reviews der vorherigen Book of Shadows waren dort immer mehr Glitzerlidschatten enthalten. Was ich besonders toll finde, ist dass diese Palette eine Basic Farbe wie Skimp enthält. Auf diese Weise kann man wirklich einen ganzen Look mit der Palette schminken, ohne noch eine zusätzliche Farbe zum Verblenden heranziehen zu müssen. Die letzte Reihe Lidschatten ist insgesamt vermutlich meine Liebste. Aber auch Bender, Lost und Cobra sind echte Favoriten. 

Es gibt zwei Lidschatten, die auch in der Naked Palette (1) enthalten sind: Gunmetal und Sin.

I really like the combination of neutal and bright colors in this palette. I prefer neutral eyeshadows but I love to once in a while add come color to my eye makeup. The eyeshadows are really soft and have a great pigmentation. I am not a huge fan of the chunky glitter in Midnight Cowgirl and Midnight Rodeo. There is a lot of fall out with these eyeshadows. The Makeup artist in the Urban Decay Tutorials suggests to apply these shadows with your fingers to reduce fall out. I am glad that there are only 2 glittery eyeshadows. I heard that the previous book of shadows contained more than that. Crystal is comared to the others a rather sheer eyeshadow. I love that they added a very basic color like Skimp. This way you can do an entire look with just this one palette without having to reach for a simple nude color to make the other shadows work. The last row is probably my favorite just because I reach for neutal colors the most. But I am also a huge fan of Bender, Lost and Cobra.

Der 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner hat einen ziemlich Wet-Look auch wenn der Liner getrocknet ist. Ich persönlich mag diesen Wet-Look bei Eyeliner nicht so gerne.

Der Supercurl Curling Mascara ist für mich kein besonderes Highlight. Er ist nicht schlecht, aber eben auch nicht besonderes.

I tried the Supercurl Curling Mascara  and the results were ok. The mascara is nothing special in my opinion.

Die Lautsprecher finde ich wirklich praktisch. Eine tolle Idee, nicht nur um sich die Urban Decay Tutorials anzuschauen. 

I really like that they added the mini speakers to this palette. They are very handy to have not just to watch the Urban Decay tutorials.

Benefit I'm glam therefore I am

Aktuell gibt es bei Benefit die limitierte "I'm glam therefore I am" Palette. Sie kostet ca. 37,95€, ist jedoch i.d.R. durch Onlinekauf in Kombination mit einem Rabattcode für 32,95€ zu bekommen. Oft hat man bei Benefit Sets mit entweder nur Lipglossen, oder nur Lidschatten oder nur Teint-Produkten. Wirklich toll finde ich an dem Set, dass eine große Vielfalt an verschiedenen Produkten enthalten ist. Demnach ist das Set auch toll zum kennenlernen für "Benefit-Neulinge".

What I really like about this set is that you get a nice variety of different products. Hence I think it is a great kit to get to know Benefit products better.

The Set contains 0.25 fl. oz. Girl meets pearl liquid highlighter, 0.07 oz. glamming face powder, 0.18 fl. oz lipgloss (Life on the A list), a 0.14 oz tube of BADgal Lash, 0.18 oz Eyeshadows in the colors: Pink Fancy, Icy Lilac, Posh Amethyst und Precious Pewter. Is a nice golden liquid highlighter.

Glamming Face Powder und Lipgloss in "Life on the A list":

Das Glamming Face Powder ist ein Korall-Pink mit goldenem Schimmer. Die ersten zwei Swatches sind die Farben einzeln, dann gemischt.

Benefit Lipglosse mag ich ohnehin sehr gerne. "Life on the A list" ist ein schönes helles Pink mit kaum sichtbarem silber Schimmer. Die Konsistenz ist sehr angenehm und überhaupt nicht klebrig. Der Duft ist lecker fruchtig.

The glamming face powder is a corally pink blush with gold shimmer. I first swatched the two colors indicidually then mixed together. 

I like Benefit lipglosses anyway so it is not a big surprise I like this one a lot. It is a pale pink with almost not visible silver shimmer. I love the consistency because it is very creamy and not sticky at all. The gloss also has a nice fruity smell to it.

Lidschatten in Pink Fancy, Icy Lilac, Posh Amethyst und Precious Pewter:

Die Lidschatten sind buttrig und haben eine hohe Pigmentierung. Man kann sie toll verblenden. Die Lidschatten haben alle einen leichten Sheen (Satin), einzig Precious Pewter ist fast matt.

The eyeshadows are really buttery and have a great pigmentation. There are easy to work with as well. They all have a satin sheen only Precious Pewter is almost matt.

Ich finde die Farbauswahl in diesem Set sehr gelungen und die Qualität der Produkte ist so, wie man sie von Benefit erwartet- gut.

I really like the colors picked for this palette. The products have a great quality, what else would you expect from Benefit. I would buy this set again anytime.
