Lola Prime Effects

After I recently showed you the Catrice Make Up Base from the Out of Space LE I thought I could start a liquid highlighter review series...
So today I want to review the Lola Prime Effects. It is like the Catrice product a highlighting base kind of product.
Lola cosmetics is a US brand which is also sold in the UK. The UK Online Store0 SimplyBeauty also ships other places. I don't believe the product I am reviewing today is still in their standard product range. I got mine from Allcosmeticswholesale . When they had a 30% sale on Lola products I only payed 10€ including shipping. The official price was $26 (without the shipping). The product contains 36.9ml.
Aside from giving you a pretty sheen this product is also supposed to nourish your skin with vitamines from exotic fruits. It is also supposed to protect your skin from damaging environmental effects. If you want to read more you can enlarge the picture by clicking it.

I got the color Pearl. The product is also sold in the shade bronze. Pearl is a slightly peachy pink highligher. Because the color is somewhat close to skincolor it looks really natural. I think it thus suits light to medium skintones the best. The highlighter gives you a nice sheen (no real shimmer or glitter). The color actually reminds me a lot of the powder highlighter from the oh so famous Enter Wonderland LE from Catrice (Fairy Dust).

N.Y.C. Chroma Face Glow

I recently found theses MAC MSF like Face powders from N.Y.C. online. I got a really got deal at Cosmetic House. I only paid 2,25 GBP each (plus shipping). From what I read they have been discontinued. I ready a couple of reviews at MUA before I got them. A lot of people compare them to MAC MSFs. I only have the MSF natural so I can't really make a comparison. BUt I am sure it is not the same product or the same quality. From what I read at MUA the MAC product has a better pigmentation but is also more shimmery than theses. The berry colored one (Moonstone) was compared to MACs Petticoat a lot. I think they are really pretty to look at and for the price you pay they do a good job.

Catrice Make Up Base (Out of Space LE)

Ich habe heute die Catrice Make Up Base aus der Out of Space LE mitgenommen. Naja...

"Lichtreflektierende Make Up Base für einen fischen Teint.

I took along the Catrice Make Up Base from their "Out of Space" LE. It looks rather small especially when compared to the packaging Catrice showed in the promotion pictures. It only contains 20ml I have an eyeshadow base which comes in a similar tube which is only slightly (5ml) smaller. But oh well I got it so now I guess I can't complain. It was 3,99€.

In the promotion Catrice said that this Make Up Base would even out your skin and give it a fresh dewy look. I had my doubt about the evening out of the skin and that's why I am glad they didn't print that on the actual tube. Because I don't like it when products promise something they most likely won't live up to anyway. So what the tube says is what the product actually does. It goves you a fresh dewy look. You can use it by itself or underneath your foundation. I wouldn't use it on it's own but rather mix it with my foundation or use it to highlight my cheekbones etc. It has a really natural effect and that's what I like. It does not have any shimmer in it at all but rather a really nice sheen.

Zuviel Bodylotion?

All at once it really looks a little ridiculous. But I just enjoy having a nice selection of skincare products. Even if that means having 15 Bodylotions at once ;)
There are only a few that I neglect most of the time (Some mispurchases like L'oreal Nutri Soft). But most of them are used regularly and some are my absolute favorites like Korres Bodybutter in Guava, Sans Soucis, Rausch and Burt's Bees Aloe and Buttermilk :)

How many Bodylotions do you have and / or actually use?

Orly -Happy Go Lucky Töne

I got sent the recent summer collection from Orly nail polishes as well as a Won't chip topcoat a pen and two creme samples from Orly. Thank you to Orly! I honestly didn't even know that Orly nail polishes have been sold for about 4 years in Germany. I so far always got them in the US because I didn't know they were sold here.

I think Orly nail polishes are quality wise comparable to OPI, Essie or China Glaze polishes. In Germany however they are less expensive then theses brands and you even get more product. With Orly polishes you get 18 ml whereas OPI etc. you only get 15ml. I already reviewed Country Club Khaki by Orly (which is a great color) and compared it to OPI Tickle My France-y.

The colors from the summer collection are all really bright. So for those of you who don't like pastel nail polish colors for spring and summer this should be perfect!

Fresh:

It's a really fresh green. I only needed two coats for the result in the picture. It is for sure an extraordinary color but not necessarily work appropriate.

Frisky:

Frisky is a real summer color. It is a bright teal color that gets you in a good mood. I only needed one coat.

Flirty

Flirty is a pink that deserves the name hot pink. It is extremly bright. I only needed one coat for a perfect coverage. Flirty is the only polish in this collection that has shimmer in it. But the overall finish is almost matt compared to the other three polishes which are rather glossy. I think it is an interested combination. The semi-matte polish with the shimmer in it. Whereas I don't really like polishes that are 100% matt.I can imagine this to be a great color for a night out.

Becaue of the flash the true color didn't really wanted to show so here is a picture in daylight.

Frolic:

Frolic is a somewhat bright purple nail polish. I again only needed one coat. The true color again didn't really wanted to show. In real life it is slightly darker. Actually the colors on the Orly website are very true.

Fazit:

I really enjoy the quality of these polishes. They have a great coverage and they dry in a moderate time and last pretty well. First I was a little skeptical about the bright colors because I usually go for a little bright colors. Fresh is still a color I wouldn't really go for. But Flirty and Frisky really surprised me and these are also my favorites in the collection.

How do you like the new Orly summer collection? Do you like the bright colors?

Salux Nylon Japanese Bath Towel

Porto bestellt.

I first heard about this Bath Towel at Makeupalley it was in their top ten picks list. It got such good reviews that I wanted to give it a try. It is a little like a shower sponge just in the size of a small towel (ca. 28cm x 90cm). The original was kind of expensive on ebay but I found an Onlineshop that had fair prices. The sell them individually or in sets of 2, 4, 8, 10 or 12. I got a set of two (one for me one for my boyfriend) and paid $11.86 including international shipping.

What's so special about this bath towel?
  • It makes the shower gel foam easier
  • It exfoliates your skin really well.
  • You can easily reach your back with it.
  • It dries super fast.
I really find it better than a "normal" sponge because it exfoliates you skin even better and because of it's size and shape of a small towel you can reach your back with it which is usually impossible with any other normal sponge unless you have a longhandled brush.

I can only recommand it!

I got my first Nars product. It is the eyeshadow duo in the color Underworld
